WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR OCT. 15
It flies out of a dream, it’s antiseptically clean. You’re gonna know where I’ve been, but first I’m gonna liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the intro video.
Commentary hypes up tonight’s festivities.
Edge makes his entrance in street clothes.
He gets on the mic and talks about his history with Seth Rollins and admits he underestimated him and that he is decidedly his own man. He says he’s gonna change the look in Seth’s eyes and leave him a husk of the man he is now, and he won’t hesitate before he puts him down. He’s had his moment of doubt and pain and he will hesitate no longer.
It’s fitting that their story ends in Hell in a Cell, and he’s going to scar Rollins’ soul.
Finn Balor makes his entrance and gets an inset promo about how he’s going to win King of the Ring to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Sami Zayn gets an inset promo as to how he’s got the motivation to win King of the Ring because he’s been persecuted at every turn.
Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn (King of the Ring Semifinals)
Zayn in control early, scraping Balor’s face across the top turnbuckle, chops, arm drag into an armbar, shot off, Sami with a lariat and a cover for two. and a sleeper hold follows to try and grind Finn down, and we go to break.

Front chancery, overhead elbows, exploder suplex into the corner! Finn up top, Sami trips him up, schoolboy with his foot on the ropes but referee Jessika Carr catches him!

A video package for Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns follows.

Back from commercial, Sonya Deville comes out to explain that she’s not wrestling alone tonight... it’s a handicap match also involving Shayna Baszler!
Naomi vs. Shayna Baszler & Sonya Deville (Handicap Match)
Baszler with a chop block, Naomi gets distracted chasing after Deville and Shayna cuts her off! Half nelson holds her in place, Sonya with body blows, Naomi recovers, springboard roundhouse kick but Baszler cuts her off again and chokes her out with the Kirifuda Clutch! Deville steps in...
Shayna Baszler & Sonya Deville win by pinfall with a one-foot pin from Deville.
A Hit Row hype reel follows.
Seth Rollins makes his entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, commentary hypes up the rest of the show.
Sasha Banks cuts a promo about how her greatness comes from all the sources thereof and making history is nothing new to her, so she’s gonna win the title in Saudi Arabia.
Commentary hypes up the Crown Jewel card.
Seth Rollins gets on the mic and laughs about Edge’s promo from earlier.
He says Edge is trying to convince himself he has a chance at Crown Jewel and that’s a great joke, but he wants to set the record straight. He crows about Edge admitting that he’s not Edge Lite and says he’s outmanipulated the master manipulator and that gives him a mental advantage, and since there’s no way Edge can be at 100%, that’s a physical advantage.
He tells Edge he’s spent more time inside the Cell than he has, and he knows what that structure does to people and what it’s done to him, and Edge is right that the fairytale ends at Crown Jewel, but not the way he thinks, and he knows this because he’s Seth freakin’ Rollins.
Carmella and Zelina Vega are in Gorilla chatting about how much better they are than the women they beat in the first round, and Vega wants to just go out there and have a good clean match.
Carmella makes her entrance to send us to break.
Carmella vs. Zelina Vega (Queen’s Crown Semifinals)
Vega with an early schoolboy pin that nearly gets a two count, go-behind, standing switch, Carmella with a kneeling armbar! Keeping Zelina grounded, arm wringers follow, flip through, Vega with a schoolboy for another two count! Mule kick from Mella, and she falls over herself apologizing for breaking the lady’s agreement not to attack faces!
Vega with a Lou Thesz Press, mounted punches to the face! Carmella rolls to the floor to get her facemask but referee Charles Robinson starts counting and she turns around to see Liv Morgan has the mask! Mella back in, Vega is ready...
Zelina Vega wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.
Sheamus is the next to get a hype reel.
Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss make their entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Corbin and Moss are in the ring for Happy Talk.
Madcap tells a story about a woman seeking a diagnosis and finding out she had an existential crisis. Corbin calls Kevin Owens a chicken and Moss has another joke, this time saying that it’s just another Friday night when Kev is writhing in a pain. Madcap has another “joke” but he gets cut off by Rick Boogs playing guitar and introducing Shinsuke Nakamura.
They do a circuit around the ring before heading back to the stage to introduce the Street Profits and send us to break.
Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. the Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) (c) (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Street Fight)
Chaotic brawling to start, Dawkins hits Drill Bit on Jey but he rolls to the floor and turns it around there! Ford backs Jimmy into the corner with punches, Jey back in with a back suplex neckbreaker... NOPE! Usos double-teaming Angelo on the floor, putting him into the barricade and taking charge... FORD WITH THE OVER-THE-POST TOPE CON GIRO!
Profits do a Dudley Boyz and get the table and we go to break!
Back from commercial, my computer is acting up so we’re gonna get a little spotty here until the end of the match when I can do a reboot. Usos with a nearfall off a kendo stick shot, Ford hits a Van Daminator... NO GOOD! Profits tee off Jey with steel chairshots, Jimmy makes the save, superkick party... STILL NO!
Dawkins fights valiantly against both Usos but he’s soon overwhelmed...
The Usos win by pinfall with diving splashes on Angelo Dawkins to retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
Becky Lynch is interviewed backstage.
She says if Sasha Banks wants to talk about greatness, she’ll talk about greatness. She’s been undefeated for nearly three years, gone off and had a baby like a god and coming back to win the title in record time, and she’s going to retain the title through Crown Jewel.
Becky Lynch makes her entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Charlotte Flair gets the next hype reel.
Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks
Bianca Belair joins commentary for this one.
Banks going after the arm early, Lynch reverses, arm wringer, side headlock from Sasha. Reversed, shot off, shoulder block and Becky stands tall and flexes! Off the ropes, turning leg drop, nobody home, duck the stomp, sunset flip for two! La Casita for two, the Boss with a lateral press, Matrix evasion, la casadora into a victory roll pin but she can’t keep The Man down!
Armbar takedown, Dis-Arm-Her attempt blocked, Bank Statement crossface blocked, Becky to her feet and Sasha throws her into the corner. Off the ropes, leg drop, standing blockbuster, cover for two! Back and forth, the Boss with the Three Amigos, cover... NO GOOD! Dis-Arm-Her in the turnbuckles, referee Dan Engler with the count and Becky breaks before five!
Up top, guillotine leg drop across the back of her neck, still just a nearfall! Pressing the attack, Banks turns her around, Meteora in the corner! Up top, another Meteora, another nearfall! Lynch goes up top, Sasha cuts her off, jockeying for position, Becky leaps over her, lungblower connects but The Man bounces out of the ring to avoid the crossface!

Bank Statement on the floor, Becky’s got nowhere to go, Sasha throws her back inside and heads up top, frog splash... NOPE! Whip reversed, block the boot, forearm smashes, Banks meets her with running knees!
Exploder suplex from Lynch but referee Dan Engler catches her with her foot on the ropes! Diving leg drop, again just two! Back to the apron, the Boss slips away from the guillotine leg drop and pulls Becky out, tornado DDT off the steps blocked, Lynch accidentally hits Bianca with a forearm and Sasha clobbers her into the barricade!
Throwing Becky back inside, Banks off the top, frog splash, knees up... SASHA KICKS OUT OF THE COVER! Both women down and out, Belair recovering at commentary, Banks with a kick, Lynch with a butterfly suplex into Dis-Arm-Her, reversed into a cover! Schoolboy for one, backslide blocked, uppercuts and a rolling solebutt, Manhandle Slam reversed into a victory roll... NOPE!
Lungblower, Bank Statement applied, Becky struggling for the ropes and she gets them! Crawling to the steps, Bianca nails her, Banks takes advantage...
Sasha Banks wins by pinfall with a lungblower.
Post-match, Adam Pearce yells at everyone to get the ring put together for the contract signing ASAP.
Roman Reigns makes his entrance, flanked by Paul Heyman as usual.
Brock Lesnar makes his entrance soon after.
Paul Heyman goes over the contract with Roman Reigns, saying it’s everything he asked for and he officially counsels Roman to sign it, so he does.
Brock signs it without even reading it, and Reigns calls him a dumbass for it. Lesnar laughs and says he already read the contract this morning, with his advocate, Paul Heyman.
Brock laughs and laughs and walks away while Roman fumes.
Commentary hypes up the Crown Jewel card.
That’s the show, folks.
