WWE Draft 2021 results, round one: Flair moves to SmackDown, Belair to Raw

Here’s how round one of the 2021 WWE Draft played out:

  1. SmackDown: Roman Reigns
  2. Raw: Big E
  3. SmackDown: Charlotte Flair
  4. Raw: Bianca Belair

Unlike in past years, the promotion did two picks for each brand, at least in the first round. We’ll have to see if that’s how it plays out moving forward.

Meanwhile, they kept the top champions of both brands on their respective shows, though you could argue this represents a move for Big E, who still appeared on SmackDown, where he was drafted last year, even after winning the WWE championship. Reigns will stick around on the blue brand, where he has been king for some time now.

He’ll be joined by “The Queen,” Charlotte Flair, who is the current Raw women’s champion. It’s notable, then, that Raw did not respond by drafting SmackDown women’s champion Becky Lynch, instead taking Bianca Belair. Of course, it’s at least possible Belair is champion again by the time she makes the jump, as she’ll challenge for the title at Crown Jewel on Oct. 21 in Saudia Arabia.
