WWE announces SmackDown women’s title match for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia

As has become standard with its trips to Saudi Arabia, WWE has ensured at least one women’s match will take place on the card.

Indeed, the company announced today that Becky Lynch will defend her SmackDown women’s championship against both Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks at the upcoming Crown Jewel event scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 21, 2021, in Riyadh.

Lynch won the title from Belair at SummerSlam in just 26 seconds after a year+ long layoff. That only happened because Banks was unable to wrestle in a scheduled match, though we’re still unclear why that was the case. She only returned at Extreme Rules just this past Sunday night, where Lynch and Belair were in the middle of a rematch for the title. She caused a disqualification, putting the boots to both of them.

Now, everyone gets another chance.

The updated Crown Jewel match card:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar (Universal championship)
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair (SmackDown women’s championship)
