WWE Royal Rumble 2021 results: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler win tag team titles

With such a loaded card, including two lengthy Royal Rumble matches, WWE basically had no choice but to book one of the planned title matches on the Kickoff show at tonight’s Royal Rumble (Sun., Jan. 31, 2021) event at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

That match ended up being the women’s tag team title bout featuring Charlotte Flair & Asuka, the champions, taking on Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler, the challengers, who were finally getting their rematch for those titles.

Because this was a Charlotte match, that meant an appearance from her father, Ric, who has been distracting her often of late. It’s been costing her, too, although this time around Ric was a distraction that didn’t work. Instead, Lacey Evans showed up to get involved herself, hitting the Woman’s Right, and that was the distraction that opened the door for Jax to hit a leg drop to score the pinfall.

Jax & Baszler are again your tag team champions, and Flair’s issues with Evans and her father continue.
