NXT narrows the gap with a sharp drop in AEW numbers

WWE.com

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Jan. 27) NXT and AEW television shows.

Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 734,000 viewers for a .29 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 720,000 viewers for a .21 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.

For AEW, this is a decrease of about 120,000 viewers from the prior week, with a big drop from last week’s 0.36 demo rating. For NXT, viewership increased by 61,000 viewers from the prior week, and the demo rating was significantly up from last week’s 0.15.

AEW finished in 6th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT landed in 24th place.

The total viewership numbers for both shows were pretty darn close this week, and the ratings gap narrowed to a range that at least presents some hope for NXT to mount a comeback. There’s no doubt that AEW will expect to see bigger numbers next week given the hype for their Beach Break wedding event.
