Usually it’s their head-to-head competition that announces a ton of matches for the next week during their Wednesday broadcast. But with two tournaments running simultaneously, NXT’s line-up is a little easier to predict right now. Which is probably why they booked four matches for their Jan. 27 episode on tonight’s show.

In Dusty Classic action, the men’s tournament will head to the second round. Drake Maverick & Killian Dain and the newly signed MSK face off on one side of the bracket, while last year’s runners up Grizzled Young Veterans battle Kushida & Leon Ruff on the other.
That’s not the only tag action on deck, either. After again being called out by Pete Dunne, NXT champion Finn Bálor marched into General Manager William Regal’s office and demanded a chance to run through all of Pat McAfee’s squad. Mr. Regal said Bálor would need a partner before he tackled NXT Tag titleholders Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, so Finn went to the man he’s gone to war with twice of late Kyle O’Reilly. Seeing as O’Reilly and his Undisputed ERA mates Adam Cole & Roderick Strong were also targeted by Dunne, Burch & Lorcan last week, Kyle said yes.
Another melee this week led to Curt Stallion finally getting the Cruiserweight title shot he won on 205 Live last year. Stallion came to Lucha House Party’s aid when they were outnumbered by their upcoming Dusty Classic second round opponents Legado Del Fantasma. That angered Santos Escobar into giving Curt his title match next week.
