Roman Reigns is going to destroy this guy

On last week’s (Jan. 8) episode of SmackDown, five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce pinned Shinsuke Nakamura to win a gauntlet match and earn a Universal championship match against Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2021. There’s a lot more to it than that, of course. Roman Reigns engineered the whole thing, because he really wants to beat Pearce’s ass.

Adam Pearce knows that he is screwed if he actually steps into the ring against the Tribal Chief. That’s why he recorded the following desperation video message, essentially pleading with Roman Reigns to call the whole thing off:

The crux of Pearce’s argument seems to be that this match does nothing for Roman Reigns, it does nothing for the Universal championship, and it will tarnish Roman’s legacy. Considering that Reigns put this whole thing together, it’s a good bet that Roman disagrees with him on all three points. At the very least, I’m pretty sure that Roman’s gonna get some hard nipples while kicking Pearce’s ass, and that alone probably makes it all worthwhile.

Roman did respond to Adam, and the Universal champion confirmed that Pearce’s message changed nothing about the ass beating that’s coming his way:

Oh boy. Roman Reigns is going to destroy this guy.

Do you think Kevin Owens or Shinsuke Nakamura will eventually bail Adam out of this fight, or is Reigns vs. Pearce really going to be the Universal championship match at Royal Rumble 2021?
