WWE Royal Rumble 2021 match card, rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Royal Rumble event set to take place on Sun., Jan. 31, 2021, at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, the company’s annual beginning of the year showcase featuring its most popular gimmick match. It will crown the next number one contender to either the Raw (World) or SmackDown (Universal) championship for the men, and either the Raw or SmackDown women’s title for the women.

We’re still a few weeks out from showtime, and here’s what is set so far:

  • Men’s Royal Rumble match

Here’s who is officially in the match as of now: Daniel Bryan, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Otis

  • Women’s Royal Rumble match

Here’s who is officially in the match as of now: Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Bayley

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Adam Pearce (Universal championship)

Reigns turned on Pearce heavily considering recent booking, then arranged to have him put in a Gauntlet match to determine the next top contender, then ensured he won that match. That’s how we got to Adam Pearce challenging for a major title in WWE in the year of our lord 2021.

WWE hasn’t made it official just yet but Goldberg challenging Drew McIntyre for the WWE championship is clearly planned, as set up on television this past week.

Apollo Crews could be in line for another shot at Big E and the Intercontinental championship while The Street Profits could be in line for a rematch against Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode for the SmackDown tag team titles. There isn’t much else teased as of right now.
