Labor Day was no holiday for Raw’s ratings

WWE.com

The TV numbers were a day late this week because of Labor Day. WWE hopes the numbers we got were an anomaly because of the holiday and more stiff competition from the NBA, NHL, and college football. But with the NFL and Monday Night Football back next week, this may be the new normal... ThunderDome or no.

The Sept. 7 Raw averaged 1.73 million viewers, down approximately 170K from last week, and the smallest number since they moved into Amway Center last month.

All numbers from Showbuzz Daily, including these hourly audience figures:

Hour one: 1.76 million
Hour two: 1.8 million
Hour three: 1.61 million

Ratings were down as well. Raw had .48 rating in the 18 - 49 year old demo rating, down from a .58 last Monday. The 18 - 34 number dropped from Aug. 31’s .33 to a .23 on Labor Day. Both numbers are the worst of the ThunderDome era.

And next week they’ll go up against the New York football Giants and my Pittsburgh Steelers. That should be something.
