Remember the brand to brand invitational?
Earlier this year, WWE implemented a sort of convoluted ruleset that would allow wrestlers from Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown to appear on the other show only a certain number of times each year. It was never exactly clear how this would be used, but WWE has seemingly done a good job of staying true to it. There has been some crossover, sure, but it’s mostly been kept to a minimum.
It was brought back into the discussion this week when the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura, showed up on Raw with a challenge:
The #SmackDown Tag Team Champions @ShinsukeN & @WWECesaro just challenged the #WWERaw Tag Team Champions @MontezFordWWE & @AngeloDawkins!

CHAMPS vs. CHAMPS next week! pic.twitter.com/iOu2Zx31qv
So they’ll be back again next week for a champion vs. champion match that comes completely out of nowhere with no build whatsoever and with very little explanation. They just sort of showed up and said they want to wrestle The Street Profits.
Nothing wrong with that!
