AJ Styles reveals he tested positive for COVID-19

WWE.com

Last night, The Rock revealed that he and his family had COVID-19. AJ Styles was asked about this news on his Twitch stream, and the Phenomenal One responded by saying that he also tested positive for the coronavirus:

“I also tested positive a couple weeks ago, probably almost a month, I think, ago. I feel for people who have to deal with this. But I got to say, I didn’t have that many problems with it. Hopefully the Rock and his family, hopefully everybody is safe...It sucks, it’s not good for anybody.”

“I was one of the lucky ones, with that being said. I had a headache, and I never had a fever. Maybe a couple of boogers, that was about it.”

It’s good to hear that Styles didn’t have any serious issues as a result of his positive diagnosis. He goes on to admit that he is confused about what to believe when it comes to COVID-19, but he remains optimistic about where things are headed:

“You hear so many different things...now it’s only 10 days instead of 14 days that you have to quarantine yourself? So who knows. I’m as confused as you guys are with this whole situation. Nevertheless, keep doing what you’re doing. Keep washing your hands. I feel like we’re heading in the right direction with this whole thing, getting it behind us.”

Testing is critical for stopping outbreaks, and the CDC now appears to be capitulating to President Trump’s reckless desire to slow down testing. I understand AJ’s confusion about the situation, and I experience that confusion myself at times. But one thing that is not confusing at all is that President Trump’s never-ending lies about the virus have consistently driven the United States to a worse place than it should be with respect to COVID-19. I wish I could share AJ’s optimism, but the absence of federal leadership makes that impossible for me. Your mileage may vary.

Stay safe out there, folks.
