Apollo Crews knew he probably wouldn’t just be facing Bobby Lashley for the United States title at Clash of Champions on Sun., Sept. 27, so Crews brought Ricochet along with him. Sure enough, the champ came out with his Hurt Business allies Montell Vontavious Porter & Shelton Benjamin (MVP said on the Kickoff that he had big plans for Cedric Alexander), so... smart thinking, Apollo.
Not that it helped. Or that Lashley even needed any help.
The familiar foes went back-and-forth, and after sending Lashley in into the ringpost on the outside, the challenger took the fight to the All Mighty. A standing moonsault got two for Crews, but when he tried to follow-up from the top rope, he got caught for a superplex.

A standing Shooting Star Press was followed by a successful Frog Splash, but that couldn’t end it, either. And that meant it was only a matter of time before Lashley looked in a Full Nelson, and Crews was forced to tap.
At least Ric was there to console him.
