NXT is dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19 right now, and it is rumored to have caused several changes to last night’s (Sept. 23) television show.
But the outbreak isn’t just confined to NXT and the Performance Center. It has extended into the WWE main roster, per Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio, who also says the number of infections is not small:
“In NXT, it’s a pretty big number. It’s not 38 like the last time, but it is not a small number either.”
“One of the coaches got it...the story going around is that they were perhaps lax with training and stuff. But, there was an outbreak. A lot of people have it. There are people on the main roster who got it from this outbreak, a few, that may impact TV this coming week.”
That WWE, AEW, and CMLL are all dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks right now is a sobering reminder that the pandemic is a serious ongoing threat that is not going away any time soon.
