Raw tag team title match official for Clash of Champions

@WWE

With less than a week until the Clash of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Sept. 27, 2020, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, WWE had to scramble to figure out who The Street Profits would defend the Raw tag team titles against at the show. After all, every title must be defended, even if they haven’t had any actual contenders built up for them.

So a somewhat baffling triple threat match was put together: Seth Rollins & Murphy (who have seemingly been on the verge of breaking up for weeks now, and at the very least are not getting along) vs. Andrade & Angel Garza (who have seemingly been on the verge of breaking up for weeks now, and at the very least are not getting along) vs. Humberto Carrillo & Dominik Mysterio (who aren’t actually a team).

Naturally, Carrillo and Mysterio did a flashy thing or two but were never a threat and Rollins just straight up walked out on the match, leaving Murphy to get overwhelmed by Andrade and Garza en route to their winning the match and earning the title shot.

Here’s the updated Clash of Champions match card:

  • Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Randy Orton (WWE championship Ambulance match)
  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso (Universal championship)
  • Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross (SmackDown women’s championship)
  • Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax vs. The Riott Squad (Women’s tag team championship)
  • Jeff Hardy (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn (Intercontinental championship Ladder match)
  • Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro (c) vs. Lucha House Party (SmackDown tag team championship)
  • The Street Profits (c) vs. Andrade & Angel Garza (Raw tag team championship)
