Despite the many protests of Sami Zayn, who never actually lost the Intercontinental championship, the planned Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles match scheduled for Friday Night SmackDown this week went ahead as planned, with the Intercontinental title on the line.
Naturally, though, he made sure there was never an actual finish to said match.
After being escorted out by Adam Pearce, Zayn snuck his way back out to the ring to interfere in the match, attacking both Styles and Hardy. The championship, then, stays with Hardy. And also, I guess, Zayn.

Clash of Champions is just around the corner and the “Gold Rush” gimmick dictates every title must be defended on the show. It seems clear they’re setting up a triple threat match here.
After, Hardy sold an injury WWE called dehydration, for whatever that is worth.
Stay tuned.
