SmackDown’s TV numbers continue the patterns we’ve seen all summer

WWE.com

SmackDown has been up and down the past several weeks. After a slight downturn on July 31, the audience numbers swung back up on Aug. 7. Last night, the blue brand averaged 1.96 million viewers across its two hours. That’s a roughly 3% increase from last Friday, which was down 4% from the week before that.

In the ratings, WWE lost some 18 - 34 year olds. That left Fox in a logjam atop that demo after winning it outright last week.

It’s hard to discern much from these numbers, except that this what we can expect from SmackDown during the summer in a pandemic. Will the ideas they’re trying like RETRIBUTION, or the rumored return of live shows help?

We shall see.
