Triple H challenges Pat McAfee to a match against Adam Cole at TakeOver: XXX

WWE.com

You just knew this would happen.

Two weeks ago, former NFL punter Pat McAfee interviewed Adam Cole on his radio show and insulted him multiple times, leading to Cole dropping some F-bombs and storming off. Cole later issued an apology (but not to McAfee) for his unprofessional behavior. McAfee was invited by Triple H to come to NXT, where he punted Cole unconscious to close out last night’s (Aug. 5) broadcast.

Now the inevitable is upon us. Triple H has challenged McAfee to a match against Cole on Aug. 22 at TakeOver: XXX:

Here is a transcription of Triple H’s challenge, courtesy of Fightful:

“There is one thing about Pat McAfee that everyone should understand; Pat grew up dreaming about being a WWE superstar. It is everything he thought he would ever be as a kid. He ended up in the NFL and one of the most successful and toughest kickers ever, but his dream was to be in WWE. The spotlight is really what he craves. It’s all about Pat McAfee. That’s a good thing, but in this situation, he is craving this spotlight and he is doing it by going after Adam Cole. He is in his head. Pat McAfee wants to be famous, I can make his dream come true. You wanna be famous? We have a big TakeOver on August 22, put your money where your mouth is. Pat McAfee vs. Adam Cole.”

Pat McAfee has yet to respond to the challenge. But I think you all know where this one is going.
