WWE spent the past few days promoting a Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins match for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, even before Mysterio was to team up with his son, Dominik, against Rollins & Murphy at Payback the night before.
As it turns out, Mysterio suffered an injury in that match.
Indeed, WWE.com is reporting Rey suffered a torn triceps during the aforementioned match at the pay-per-view and will be out of action moving forward.
A torn triceps, if the injury is legitimate as WWE is reporting it to be, typically requires a long recovery. Mysterio would likely be out of action for the remainder of 2020 and into 2021. With his son taking on a bigger role on television, it could simply make for a move to a managerial role.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
