We knew WWE had a PPV event pencilled in for Sept. 27, because it’s in their contract to run shows out of Orlando’s Amway Center for the next two months. We figured it was going to be Clash of Champions, because that event happened in September two of three times WWE’s run it.
During Payback last night (Aug. 30), WWE confirmed what we though we knew. In on-brand fashion.
A video announcing Clash of Champions 2020 aired on the Network that showed the original rumored date for this year’s tenth main roster PPV - Sept. 20. But later in the broadcast Michael Cole promoted it for the 27th, and the company later confirmed the later date as official.

No matches are set yet. But if they try to do the “every title is on the line” gimmick, we can expect an at least ten match card.
