WWE has put a bow tie around its Payback pay-per-view (PPV) from ThunderDome (aka Orlando’s Amway Center), as the promotion wrapped up the show tonight (Sun., Aug. 30, 2020) with Roman Reigns pinning Braun Strowman to win the Universal championship after legally - it was a Triple Threat - low blowing Bray Wyatt.
Was it the best match on the card?
The show also featured Keith Lee and Matt Riddle winning in their PPV debuts over Randy Orton and King Corbin, respectively. Dominik Mysterio won his first WWE match in his brief career when he pinned Murphy to give himself & father Rey a win over Seth Rollins & his disciple. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax ended Sasha Banks & Bayley’s Women’s tag title reign, and maybe the Two Woman Power Trip altogether. Bobby Lashley beat Apollo Crews to bring the U.S. championship to The Hurt Business, Big E kept his win streak going with another victory over Sheamus, and the reunited Riott Squad overcame IIconics.
