The SummerSlam 2020 match card is taking shape

Coming into this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, only two matches were official for the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., Aug. 23, 2020, at a location to be named. Now, however, we’ve got two more matches official and a third in the works.

  • Seth Rollins vs. Dominik Mysterio

Dominik laid down the challenge and Rollins initially acted as though he wouldn’t accept it but after yet another instance of Dominik making both Rollins and Murphy look silly, he agreed to the match.

  • Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP (United States championship)

Crews defeated MVP to solidify himself as U.S. champion to open Raw this week. MVP demanded a rematch and it was accepted.

Those are the two matches that are official.

Elsewhere, Asuka asked for a rematch with Sasha Banks for the Raw women’s championship and Banks agreed, provided Asuka defeats Bayley on Raw next week. For whatever it’s worth, Shayna Baszler was there to say she hopes Asuka wins the title so she could chase her for it.

Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton for the WWE championship and The Street Profits vs. Andrade & Angel Garza for the Raw tag team titles were the two matches already announced for the show.
