A whole lot of folks have worked themselves into a shoot over WWE’s decision to have Bayley & Sasha Banks holding the SmackDown & Raw Women’s titles while they’re the company’s Women’s Tag Team champs.
Sonya Deville isn’t one of them. In fact, the blue brand Superstar had the perfect response when asked about The Two Woman Power Trip in a recent work/shoot-blending interview with International Business Times.
How have you felt watching Bayley and Sasha Banks win all of the women’s titles in WWE?
Have they faced me yet this year? That’s why they have all the gold still. The second I get in that picture it’s all gonna change, and I think everybody knows that. Bayley and Sasha can hold onto their gold as long as they want until I’m finished with Mandy, and then I’m coming straight for the title. That’s the end of the story.
Now that’s how you do it. The words “booking” or “deserve” never enter into it, despite the fact Daria Berenato is out of character for some of the interview discussing working during the pandemic, the importance of LGBTQ+ representation in wrestling, and other topics. Instead, she puts over her own abilities and hopefully raises interest in future programs where all involved can make some money.
