On Sunday, Aug. 23, Jacob Blake was shot at seven times at close range by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Video footage of the incident doesn’t establish a reason for this inhumane shooting; Blake’s back was turned towards police as he was leaning into his vehicle, and then he was shot at seven times in front of his children. Blake, a 29 year old black man and father of six children, is now hospitalized and paralyzed from the waist down, and facing an extremely challenging road ahead as a result of the severe injuries inflicted upon him by police.
There have been protests in Kenosha every day since this police shooting, and these protests reached into the sports world yesterday. Multiple games in the NBA, MLB, WNBA, and MLS were postponed due to players protesting against racial injustice.
The Rock announced that he has also postponed one of his projects, as he reacted to the police shooting of Blake on Twitter:
Out of respect for Jacob Blake & his family we’ll postpone our @projectrock @underarmour PR3 launch today. I’ll keep you posted on our relaunch date.

Unbelievable we’re here again.
Shot 7xs. In the back.
In front of his kids.
There’s no progress without humanity.
