Dearest @Goldberg ,— Bray Wyatt (@WWEBrayWyatt) August 26, 2020
Don’t worry old friend we fixed it.
Don’t listen to what they say, you and I know they’re wrong.
I forgive you!
But please, if you see the red walk away from it.
There’s a lot to unpack here. Bray Wyatt’s first Universal title reign ended when he faced Goldberg in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. Goldberg dropped the belt to the man Wyatt just pinned to reclaim it, Braun Strowman. But Strowman was never supposed to be in that spot, as he was a last minute replacement for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36 after the Big Dog opted out of the show - presumably because he wasn’t comfortable performing during the pandemic with the controls WWE had in place at the time. Reigns returned last Sunday at SummerSlam by attacking Wyatt & Strowman. The three men will compete in a Triple Threat for Bray’s belt this Sunday (Aug, 30) at Payback.
Oh yeah! We recently learned Goldberg has at least four more matches on his current WWE contract.
Wyatt could be planting seeds for one of those. His Firefly Fun House host/The Fiend gimmick is most interesting when feuding with people he has history with, and this latest hurt/heal tweet reminds us Goldberg qualifies.
WWE will probably still want to do Reigns vs. Goldberg at some point, too. A Fiend rematch could be a prelude or follow-up to that.
Intrigued enough to forgive WWE for Super ShowDown?
