We don’t have much of a card for Payback yet, which isn’t too surprising since the Sun., Aug. 30 show is coming just one week after SummerSlam.
There are four matches lined up, however, and three of them have championships on the line. One of those features a recently returned Superstar who many wrestling fans always think is going to win - regardless of how many things WWE stacks up for him to climb over.
But the sports books aren’t calling a Roman Reigns Universal title win a foregone conclusion. At least not in the opening odds from Bet Online...
Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Bray Wyatt 1/3
Roman Reigns 3/2
Braun Strowman 5/1
Randy Orton vs. Keith Lee
Randy Orton -120
Keith Lee -120
Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax vs. Bayley & Sasha Banks (c)
Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax -140
Sasha Banks & Bayley EVEN
Apollo Crews (c) vs. Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley -250
Apollo Crews +170
Most of these are money line bets. In a nutshell, the name with a negative number next to it is the favorite, and you have to wager that amount to win $100. The name with a positive number next to it is the underdog; you will win the posted amount for each $100 you wager. EVEN money bets double your wager.
For example, a correct $140 bet on the challengers in the Women’s Tag title match collects $240. But if you place $100 on The Golden Role Models in that match, you’ll get $200 back if she wins.
The win odds for the Triple Threat work the same way. Wager the second number, and you’ll get your original bet plus the first number back.
e.g. A winning $3 bet on Bray Wyatt collects $4, whereas putting $1 on Braun Strowman would pick up $6 at the pay window if he reclaims his belt.
These are very early lines, though. If you’re interested in using these as spoilers, watch how they change as we get closer to the show. Following Bet Online on Twitter will allow you to do just that.
Will Roman overcome being an underdog (instead of the Big Dog nyuknyuknyuk) against The Fiend? Is Sasha really going to be #NoBeltzBanks after Payback?
