Since Extreme Rules, Alexa Bliss has been a prominent part of the Bray Wyatt/Braun Strowman rivalry. She’s been attacked by and soothed The Fiend. Strowman’s disregard for her safety has been evidence of his becoming more Monster than Man. Bray even made the “love story” between Braun & Alexa the centerpiece of Firefly Fun House on the last SmackDown before SummerSlam’s Universal title match.
That’s why a lot of fans found it curious that Bliss wasn’t anywhere to be found at the PPV last night (Aug. 23) when The Fiend and Braun went to war in a Falls Count Anywhere main event.
Among those who were confused by a key player being missing for what might have been the story’s climax? Alexa Bliss.

A plausible theory is that once plans for Roman Reigns return were finalized, WWE didn’t want to completely overbook SummerSlam’s main event with mid-match stuff with Bliss and the post-match angle with The Big Dog.
It would make sense. But it would also be pretty disappointing if the angle with Alexa (that many people thought was one of if not the most interesting thing about the Wyatt/Strowman feud) was never followed up on beyond what happened on the Aug. 14 SmackDown.
Bliss certainly doesn’t seem happy about where things were left off with her involvement.
