WWE SummerSlam 2020 results: Roman Reigns returns, enters Universal title scene

Last time on Firefly Fun House Theater, Braun Strowman beat up our host Bray Wyatt while he was talking about the woman Braun says he doesn’t care about any more. WWE officials put Wyatt in a City of Orlando ambulance, but The Fiend emerged and stuck his tongue out at all of us.

This time, the two Family members stepped into WWE ThunderDome for a Falls Count Anywhere match for Strowman’s Universal title at SummerSlam.

While there was no red light, the action started with pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a non-cinematic Fiend vs. Braun showdown. Strowman hit devastating-looking maneuvers to Wyatt’s alter ego, driving him through barricades and bouncing his head off screens. The Fiend was largely unfazed.

Bray hit the champ with his biggest moves, including a Sister Abigail backstage (where there was a red light). but Braun wouldn’t stay down.

The end came when Strowman retrieved a box cutter and used it to expose the wood under the mat. It backfired, of course, when The Fiend stood up and hit him with Sister Abigail to win the title.

It was pretty underwhelming, but it was just prelude for what happened next... THE BIG DOG IS BACK!

Roman Reigns speared The Fiend out of his boots, then lit Strowman up with a steel chair. There was a ton of trash talk from Big Uce about how he made both men and they were just keeping the title warm for him during the five months he’s been away.

After another spear to the new Universal champ, Reigns held the title above his head and continued to run his mouth as the show ended.

Did you see that coming? Thoughts on an angry Roman immediately re-inserting himself at the top of the SmackDown card?
