Instead of booking an extra match for the Kickoff show at tonight’s (Sun., Aug. 23, 2020) SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, WWE simply decided to move the Apollo Crews vs. MVP United States title match.
These two had been going at it for a number of weeks, with MVP claiming the title his own when Crews was forced to miss some time and Apollo taking it back as soon as he returned. For this match, the champion earned the right for The Hurt Business to be banned from ringside.
Thanks to that, Crews had no issue with defeating MVP.
It was your basic match, with Crews doing what he could to add some flair to it:

There wasn’t much there, however. Considering that, moving it to the Kickoff made sense. Even after the match, when The Hurt Business ran down to get after Crews, he simply ran away and that was that.
