Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins have spent much of their almost six month reign dealing with Zelina Vega’s business associates. That continues at the ThunderDome this weekend.

The champs haven’t had a ton of title defenses over the last few months. Partly that was because both Dawkins (fatherhood) and Ford (kayfabe poisoning) have missed time; partly it’s because their “Anything You Can Do We Can Do Better” series with Viking Raiders went on for a looong time.

When both Profits have been around and not miniature golfing/fighting ninjas, they’ve often been fighting Angel Garza & Andrade. Actually, for a while it was Garza & Austin Theory, but still... this will be their fifth match against a Zelina-led duo since March. And they’ve only had 13 matches total since March.

So why are we doing this again?

Because Andrade & Garza won a Triple Threat #1 contenders match last month.

That was a week after the Profits gave them the smoke, but Vega’s managed to reheat the feud by poisoning Tez.

That created some mystery, and gave Bianca Belair something to do (and we’ll never complain about that). It also led to Ford beating Andrade on the go home show last Monday, if you’re someone who subscribes to the theory that means something about how Sunday night will go.

What’s at stake

Mostly the titles. They’re not worth much, but they’re the only way to guarantee you can get a storyline as a tag team on the WWE main roster.

The fate of the Andrade/Garza/Vega alliance could hang in the balance, as well. We’ve seen hints the fellas may blame Zelina for their struggles, and ones that she may be fed up with Angel’s flirting with the likes of Charly Caruso and that blonde from The Bachelor.
