With AEW pre-empted, NXT lands its highest viewership of the year

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Aug. 19) episode of NXT television.

Per Showbuzz Daily, NXT checked in with 853,000 viewers for a .24 rating point in the key 18-49 demographic.

Viewership sharply increased by about 234,000 viewers from the prior week, and the demo rating jumped up from last week’s 0.16. NXT rose from 65th to 23rd place in the demo rating for the night.

Many fans have have wondered what viewership and ratings data for both NXT and Dynamite would look like if they did not air directly opposite each other on Wednesday nights, and these results give us a decent first impression of how the numbers might change. This is the first time that NXT has reached 800,000+ viewers in 2020, and this is their best demo rating of the empty arena era.
