Apollo Crews was supposed to wrestle MVP for the United States championship at Extreme Rules two weeks ago but WWE announced he wasn’t medically cleared to compete. Instead, MVP unveiled an entirely new title belt and took it for himself, declaring himself the new champion.
Now, Crews is back and the two will open this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in a match to determine the rightful owner of the U.S. title.
This will presumably do away with the old title design and make the fresh one the new standard.
As of now, this is the only match official for Raw this week. WWE has also promoted Drew McIntyre and Asuka seeking retribution against Randy Orton, and Bayley and Sasha Banks, respectively.
