In late April of this year, Carmella teamed up with Dana Brooke to challenge Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross for the women’s tag team titles. They lost. Just one week later, she qualified for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match by defeating Mandy Rose. At Money in the Bank, she lost.
She hasn’t been seen on SmackDown ever since.

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown seemed like the perfect opportunity for her to at least make an appearance, what with WWE booking a battle royal to determine the next challenger for the SmackDown women’s championship. Wrestlers from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT showed up, and Carmella was not among them. Ultimately, a Raw wrestler who already has a title match at SummerSlam was victorious.
She’s kept herself busy doing the Bare With Us podcast with her boyfriend, Corey Graves, but something tells me she would rather be wrestling on television.
