The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Extreme Rules event set to take place on Sun., July 19, 2020, at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This year’s show has been given the theme “Horror Show,” for reasons that have yet to be adequately explained by anyone at WWE.
We’re a couple weeks from showtime and the card looks like this:
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler (WWE championship)
Ziggler was traded to Raw and immediately asked for a title shot. It was granted, for whatever reason. Really, he’s a stopgap and another name to get McIntyre over on his road to someone like Randy Orton, or Brock Lesnar again.
- Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt (SWAMP FIGHT)
The two are presumably going back to their roots and fighting it out in the swampland. Stunt coordinators are reportedly being called in. It’s the next cinematic from WWE!
- Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks (Raw women’s championship)
Banks laid down this challenge with the hopes she would become a double champion just like her tag team partner, Bayley.
- Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross (SmackDown women’s championship)
Cross won a Fatal 4-Way to earn her shot.
AJ Styles vs. Matt Riddle, Riddle vs. King Corbin, Big Show vs. Randy Orton, Street Profits vs. Andrade & Angel Garza, and The New Day vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro have all been rumored or hinted at on television.
Thoughts?
