Even with many things still shutdown due to the pandemic, a long Independence Day weekend is still a holiday. As such, a lot of people found things to do with their night on Fri., July 3 other than sit home and watch SmackDown on Fox.
That meant the smallest audience the show has had since moving to broadcast TV last fall, and finishing in a pack of shows trailing NBC’s Dateline in the overnight ratings for the night. WWE did have the biggest share of men under 50 who were actually watching TV, though.
