Leather straps cause bruises, and other things we learned in this week’s NXT Injury Report

Matt Camp’s NXT Injury Report is busier following July 1’s Great American Bash show, but it doesn’t contain much in the way of surprises.

Dexter Lumis & Roderick Strong had a strap match. As happens in those, they used the leather strap which tied them together at the wrist as a weapon against one another. Being smacked with a belt-like weapon leaves marks.

They’ll both be fine. As has been the case throughout Lumis feud with Undisputed ERA, it’s the psychological damage that was done to Roddy that we need to worry about.

Elsewhere, Timothy Thatcher beat Oney Lorcan with a Fujiwara armbar after targeting his right shoulder throughout the match. Then he applied the hold again after the bell.

It’s unlikely either of these injuries affects the second night of the Bash on July 8, but they’ll likely be a factor when things start back on the 15th.

Here’s Camp’s video, and a list of what was covered:

  • Dexter Lumis & Roderick Strong - Multiple body contusions; cleared
  • Oney Lorcan - Hyperextended right arm; day-to-day
