If you thought there was any chance WWE would slow down its push of Matt Riddle following recent allegations of misconduct, well, you would be wrong. If that wasn’t clear already, and it should have been, it was made so on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Riddle opened the show in an interview with Michael Cole speaking on achieving his hopes and dreams by making it to the WWE main roster. They also gave a cute little backstory for his decision to wrestle barefoot.
He was presented as a full blown babyface, a hero fans should root for.

To cement his status, he was paired with ultimate company heel Baron Corbin for his first main roster feud. Instead of actually wrestling Corbin, at least for now, John Morrison was called in to be the guy to give Riddle a great match but ultimately do the job for him. This follows up his win over Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles last week.
Strap in, folks.
