What the best wrestling night of the week has in store for you on Aug. 5

WWE NXT’s Twitter

So you can start planning your Aug. 5 channel flipping, here’s what AEW and NXT announced during this week’s shows for next week.

Unlike last week, NXT has already booked three matches. Two of them definitely have ramifications for Aug. 22’s TakeOver: XXX, and the third probably does, too:

- Damian Priest vs. Oney Lorcan vs. Ridge Holland (former rugby pro Ridge Holland, making his NXT Prime debut after a few matches in NXT UK) in a Triple Threat for a spot in the North American title ladder match at TakeOver

- Dakota Kai faces Rhea Ripley for the right to challenge Women’s champion Io Shirai at TakeOver

- Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish try to get Undisputed ERA back on top by winning the NXT Tag titles for a fourth time. They’ll battle current champs Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel of Imperium.

Dynamite has five segments planned for next week... and they’ve revealed a couple things about the week after, too!

Aug. 5

- Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder) makes his in-ring debut when he teams with Cody against Dark Order’s John Silver & Alex Reynolds. Cardona saved the TNT champ & WARHORSE from a creepy pervert attack tonight.

- It’s a Dark Order kinda night, as Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks & FTR wiill tangle with Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana, Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Five & Ten in 12 man action. On tonight’s episode, Matt & Nick Jackson and Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler helped the Tag champs fend off a creepy pervert attack after they retained against Uno & Grayson.

- Darby Allin challenges Jon Moxley for the World title.

- Chris Jericho & Orange Cassidy will have a debate with a “special guest moderator” ahead of their rematch.

- We’ll get an update on MJF challenging Moxley.

Aug. 12

- Chris Jericho/Orange Cassidy II

- FTR will host a “Tag Team Appreciation Night”
