While their rivals over on TNT rolled out a full line-up forJuly 29’s Dynamite, NXT only had the latest Triple Threat for a spot in TakeOver: XXX’s Ladder Match for the North American title.
Finn Bálor vs. Timothy Thatcher vs. Dexter Lumis is a heck of a match, and it’ll be fascinating to see how they book things between one of their biggest stars and two guys they’re trying to get to Finn’s level of popularity. But it’s not going to take up two hours, and a 15 - 30 minute banger won’t make much of a dent in the ratings gap when AEW has all of their champions in action.
And that’s why last night NXT’s thankfully-not-retired General Manager William Regal revealed more about Wednesdays show.
With #WWERaw in less than hour, here is a short preview for #WWENXT THIS Wednesday on @USA_Network: @ShotziWWE v @RealMMartinez#NXTChampion @RealKeithLee will respond to the actions of @WWEKarrionKross#TripleThreat match between Timothy Thatcher, @FinnBalor, & @DexterLumis pic.twitter.com/sc1o2AsRQe

Both build from the events of last week’s episode. Mercedes Martinez signed with Robert Stone after Shotzi Blackheart ran him over with a tank for the second time. And Keith Lee got pissed when Karrion Kross injured Dominik Dijakovic as part of his ongoing message to the NXT champion.
Who knows? Pat McAfee might be there, too.
Sound like a show you might want to watch?
UPDATE: After they continued to talk crap after losing to Bronson Reed in last week’s ladder match qualifier, Regal added some heel vs. heel action to tomorrow night’s card. Roderick Strong vs. Johnny Gargano should be sweet, regardless of alignments.
After the comments made by two of our competitors this past week, I am making it OFFICIAL for tomorrow’s episode of #WWENXT on @USA_Network...
