We already knew the next episode of Raw would feature two title matches. WWE’s announced two other segments for Mon., July 27 that should tell us more about the direction the brand is taking heading into the Biggest Party Event of the Summer on Aug. 23.
- Fresh off punting Big Show onto his updated list of legends “killed,” Randy Orton will open the show: “by announcing his next target.” There have been reports from a variety of sources indicating a WWE title feud with Drew McIntyre is next for The Viper; it’s allegedly one of the only plans that wasn’t scrapped at last Monday’s taping (where this upcoming episode was also shot).
- A Tag Team Triple Threat match will definitely determine who challenges Street Profits for the belts at SummerSlam. Ricochet & Cedric Alexander, Viking Raiders, and Angel Garza & Andrade fight for the right to end the longest Raw Tag title reign in years.
Those are in addition to the already announced Women’s title match, where Sasha Banks & Asuka’s Extreme Rules do-over (necessitated by Bayley making herself the referee that counted three on the champ at the July 19 PPV) could involve a write-off for Kairi Sane that would provide motivation for Asuka’s SummerSlam feud.
And McIntyre will defend the WWE championship against Dolph Ziggler once more, this time in a match where he gets to pick the stipulation. The outcome of that one isn’t in doubt, but their Extreme Rules match was fun, and this should be too.
Join us Monday night and we’ll find out more about the Red Brand’s contributions to SummerSlam together.
