AEW destroys NXT in the ratings again

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (July 22) NXT and AEW television shows.

Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite netted 845,000 viewers for a .32 rating point in the 18-49 demographic. NXT checked in with 615,000 viewers for a .17 rating point in the same 18-49 demo.

For AEW, this is an increase of about 57,000 viewers from the prior week, and a good rise from last week’s 0.29 demo rating. For NXT, viewership decreased by about 16,000 viewers from the prior week, but the demo rating increased from last week’s 0.14.

AEW remained in 5th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT moved up from 49th to 35th place.

The story here isn’t all that different from last week. AEW’s numbers continue to go up; this is their highest demo rating and viewership since the start of April, and is in line with the results AEW was accustomed to prior to the empty arena era. Tony Khan will once again be drinking a little bit of the bubbly over these impressive numbers.

NXT continues to lag far behind in both metrics, though they at least somewhat recovered from last week’s disastrous demo rating. It’s still nothing to pound their chest over, though.

Here is a little more context surrounding these numbers:
