WWE Extreme Rules 2020 results: MVP declares himself U.S. champ

Apollo Crews was supposed to defend his United States title against MVP at Extreme Rules on Sun., July 19.

Instead, it was announced that Crews showed up to wrestle but wasn’t cleared due a “herniated disc”. He was not shown on camera, so you can draw your own conclusion.

MVP came out with Bobby Lashley, wrapped the new design of the U.S. belt around his waist, and declared himself champion by forfeit. The announcers made it clear it wasn’t official.

This ties into the story of MVP introducing the new look belt. Expect a match to “unify” the title when Crews is back to 100%.
