There’s a Hulk Hogan biopic from Oscar-nominated director Todd Phillips coming to Netflix... someday. It’s been more than a year since it was announced, Hogan is the only role cast, and that guy said in April he hadn’t seen a script yet.
But “that guy” is Chris Hemsworth of Marvel Cinematic Universe fame. So between that and the fact that despite (or perhaps because of?) his faults the world remains fascinated by the Hulkster, the project pops up whenever Hemsworth is interviewed.
It happened what he was talking to Total Film recently, and the Australian actor discussed the challenges he faces in playing one of the most famous wrestlers to ever live - challenges it sounds like he’s (mostly) looking forward to:
“This movie is going to be a really fun project. As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude.
“I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I’m really looking forward to doing”
We’re looking forward to it, too... especially now that we’re trying to imagine a (non-gamma irradiated) Hulk that’s bigger than the thunder god.
Better take those vitamins and say those prayers, Chris.
