Raw books ‘Night of Grudge Matches’ for Extreme Rules go home

It’s not quite the Great American Bash, but WWE is promoting Monday’s Raw with a theme. The July 13 show, which is also the brand’s go home for Extreme Rules, will feature four “Grudge Matches”.

The one we already knew about - Kabuki Warriors challenge Sasha Banks & Bayley for their WWE Women’s Tag titles. Asuka defeated the SmackDown Women’s champ last week, and Banks challenges The Empress for her Raw Women’s title at the Sun., July 19 PPV.

We’ll also get Randy Orton vs. R-Truth. This should be a blast, and could be a great match if they decide to go that route. The set-up is the 24/7 champ bumping into The Viper backstage, and confusing Ric Flair for Akira Tozawa. Orton then lied to Tozawa’s ninjas about where Truth was headed. Not much of a grudge, but I’d look for Big Show to prevent Truth from getting killed. Legends gotta stick together when there’s a killer in their midst.

This WrestleMania 36 rematch will surely fuel next Sunday’s “Eye For An Eye” match, but who cares? Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins have amazing chemistry. There are worse ways to fill time on a three hour show with a depleted roster.

And last but possibly but not definitely least, we’re getting an elimination tag between Zelina Vega’s boys and Viking Raiders. Erik & Ivar saved Street Profits from an attack by Andrade & Angel Garza a little while back. The former U.S. champ and the former Cruiserweight titleholder haven’t been getting along lately, but are rumored to be in line for a Tag title shot.

Sound like good reasons to spend your Monday night with WWE?
