Apollo Crews won the United States championship from Andrade, who runs with Angel Garza, with some assistance from Kevin Owens. Naturally, then, WWE booked the three in a triple threat match to determine who would wrestle Crews for the title at Backlash this Sun., June 14, from Orlando.
Rematch!
Owens had just hit the Stunner on Garza and was about to score the pinfall to book his ticket to the PPV when Andrade ran in, knocked him away, and pinned Garza himself. Commentary mentioned Garza being used by Andrade but it wasn’t made a key part of the story, at least not on this particular broadcast.
It’s wide open to go back to, however.
Either way, it will be Crews vs. Andrade for the title up next.
