Former WWE champion Jinder Mahal returned to Raw a few weeks after WrestleMania 36. He worked a handful of matches on that show & Main Event, and cut a promo which had fans guessing about his character’s alignment and anticipating/dreading a feud with current WWE champ Drew McIntyre. Then he disappeared.
Now we know why.
There aren’t any reports about what type of surgery Mahal had done, or a timeframe for his return. He was out from June 2019 until April 2020 due to a ruptured patella (although he was reportedly ready to return earlier before he did, but was “waiting on creative”), and it looks like he got the same knee worked on this time.
Wish him a speedy recovery, and hypothesize about how this may have changed WWE’s plans for the Raw title picture, in the comments below.
