The next NXT call-up might be a woman (potential spoiler)

WWE.com

Matt Riddle’s on his way to SmackDown, and Dominik Dijakovic is supposed to debut on Raw in the not-too-distant future.

Word is that more names will follow those two from NXT to the red & blue brands, and today we heard about another specific one... officials are said to have “discussed” calling up Chelsea Green.

The potential move - reported by WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor, who was the first to cover the Dijakovic promotion later confirmed by Wrestling Observer and others - makes a lot of sense.

Green is a Lance Storm trainee who has television experience from her time in TNA/Impact as Laurel Van Ness. She wrestled in the 2020 Royal Rumble, and has been featured pretty prominently on Wednesday nights. But Chelsea’s never been used such that taking her off the show would hurt any storylines or significantly shake-up the Women’s title picture. And last week, NXT took the seemingly out-of-nowhere step of separating her from her manager, Robert Stone.

Now, it looks like could mean WWE isn’t ready to bring Stone up yet if they move Green to Raw or SmackDown. Chelsea did team with Charlotte Flair on the May 27 episode, and the story was that Flair picked her as a partner for the match against Io Shirai & Rhea Ripley. So perhaps she’ll be introduced on Mondays or Fridays as an ally of Charlotte Three Shows. Dangoor’s sources told him the win with The Queen was part of a plan to build Green up ahead of her promotion.

Let us know what you think of the possibility of Chelsea Green on the main roster, and which brand needs her more, in the comments below.
