WWE Extreme Rules 2020 match card, rumors

The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Extreme Rules event set to take place on Sun., July 19, 2020, at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This year’s show has been given the theme “Horror Show,” for reasons that have yet to be adequately explained by anyone at WWE.

We’re a couple weeks from showtime and the card looks like this:

  • Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler (WWE championship)

Ziggler showed up on Raw to reveal he was one of the guys involved in the SmackDown trade for AJ Styles. He immediately demanded a title shot as a continuation of an old story with McIntyre, and was granted as much.

  • Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt (SWAMP FIGHT)

Wyatt showed up after a month away to say he wants to take Strowman back to how they used to be. Strowman, in what was supposed to be a surprise, agreed to this and asked for a fight to be had there. So we’re getting what WWE is calling a SWAMP FIGHT.

  • Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks (Raw women’s championship)

Banks made like she was going to issue a challenge to her best friend, Bayley, because she wants two titles like Bayley has. Instead, she challenged Asuka, who quickly accepted.

  • Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross (SmackDown women’s championship)

Cross defeated her own tag partner, Alexa Bliss, Lacey Evans, and Dana Brooke in a Fatal 4-Way on SmackDown this past week to earn this shot.

AJ Styles vs. Matt Riddle, Big Show vs. Randy Orton, Street Profits vs. Andrade & Angel Garza, and The New Day vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro have all been rumored or hinted at on television.
