A banger with Bálor + an injury angle = Damian Priest’s a face now

This week’s NXT Injury Report is pretty light... probably because everyone is tied up getting tested for COVID.

In fact, the only name on Matt Camp’s latest is Damian Priest. What’s mentioned in the video (embedded above) is pretty straight forward: Cameron Grimes smashing his mid-section in a car door before, then delivering multiple Cave In stomps during their match on the June 24 episode have left Priest “suffering from rib and back pain.” His symptoms will be monitored.

It’s how Camp describes The Archer of Infamy’s performance last Wednesday that drives home something I’ve been thinking about since TakeOver: In Your House. There, Priest and Finn Bálor delivered a banger. Afterward The Prince’s win, the two men showed respect by directing their signature gestures at one another.

Since then, Priest’s been targeted by Grimes, and this week playing the underdog to the North Carolinian’s clearly heel character. And NXT’s announcers are selling the former ROH star as “valiant” and “courageous” during his struggles against Grimey.

Just wondering what you all think of Priest as a babyface. Check out the Injury Report above - which is mostly just hype for The Great American Bash - and let us know in the comments below.
