SmackDown women’s championship match now official for Extreme Rules

@WWE

One half of the WWE women’s tag team champions, Sasha Banks, challenged Asuka to a match for the Raw women’s championship at Extreme Rules last week, so that’s what she’ll be doing. But what about the other half of the WWE women’s tag team champions, Bayley?

WWE answered that question on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in the form of a Fatal 4-Way number one contender match pitting Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross vs. Lacey Evans vs. Dana Brooke.

The sad reality is that has less to do with who is deserving and more to do with who is available.

Either way, in something of a surprise, Cross rolled up Evans just after she hit the Woman’s Right on Brooke to set up a date with Bayley on July 19, 2020, in Orlando.

The updated Extreme Rules match card:

  • Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler (WWE championship)
  • Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks (Raw women’s championship)
  • Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross (SmackDown women’s championship)
