Extreme Rules 2020 is now officially a Horror Show

I’m so confused right now.

I was reading through some match previews on WWE’s web site and came across this:

Extreme Rules: The Horror Show?

Huh?

Clicking into the article indicates that this is indeed Vince McMahon’s latest brilliant idea for selling a pay-per-view:

“Will Banks become a double champion, or will Asuka continue to reign supreme on the red brand? Find out at WWE Extreme Rules: The Horror Show, streaming Sunday, July 19, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network!”

The same awkward tagline is included in their post for Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler.

Please give me a few minutes while I try to contain my laughter and compose myself.

Now here are a few of my instant thoughts about this concept:

  • “Horror Show” is a very appropriate name considering the possible COVID-19 outbreak going on in WWE right now.
  • Braun Strowman is definitely tipping over a House of Horrors against Bray Wyatt on this card, right?
  • Brace yourselves, because Michael Cole is now going to exclaim “The Horror Show!” a billion times over the next three weeks.

Cagesiders, can you please explain to me what the hell this is?
